Pony Madness!

Pinkie Pie
Hey every pony!

I've found a new hobby! And it's highly addicting.

I LOVE
My Little Pony. Not the original ponies, but the new 'Friendship is Magic' ones, they're also known as the G4 ponies. I collect the little figurines that come in the blind bags, so you don't know which one you're gonna get. There's 24 to collect. And there are, until now, 5 series of 24 different ponies, and every now and then they come up with a new series of ponies to collect. Aaaaaarghh!
And I watch the series on tv. It's a new series, so I actually have to WAIT until the next episode is being aired.

I even have a favourite. I LOVE
Pinkie Pie. Yeah, she used to be one of the original ponies, but she's much cooler in the new series. About 20%. ;)
Ok, I understand this may sound confusing for the people who only know the original ponies from the 80s. I don't know the story behind it, but I do know that in the new series some of the original ponies have gotten a make-over and some new ponies were added.

The ponies are also starting to become popular in Holland, every week I see more Pony stuff in the shops than the week before... Lord help me.
I know myself, when I get completely mad about something, I'll want to buy everything there is. O.O It was hard today telling myself not to buy the window decorations, bags, pencases, puzzles, mugs, stickers, etc...

I did buy a huge
Pinkie wall-sticker though...

But that one was just too cute...

And here's one of my mini pony collection so far... The full white and full purple pony on the left are special glow-in-the-dark editions. :D

I'm especially proud of my Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle (3 of the 6 main characters of the show). :D

Now all I still want (of this series) are Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie special glowing edition. :D And then I'm making Ponyville to display them all. :P

You know what the bad thing is about me being crazy about something else every time? I never stop being a fan of previous things I've collected. In other words, I can never bear to sell or throw away my Winx Club, Star Trek Voyager and Pet Shop Boys collection. My house gets fuller and fuller. Help. LOL

Ok, now I'm off to find some paper craft websites to make my own ponies, while listening to
DJ P0N-3.... LOL

Dream coming true...?

Pinkie Pie
It's been a while since I've written something here.

I've been busy with work, sorting myself out, etc. You know the stuff. LOL

Anyway, I thought I'd write about a childhood dream of mine that I've had since I was 9 years old. Well, I haven't had that dream constantly, but it's been in the background since I was 13, and I would have still gone for it if the opportunity presented itself in a way it would be very easy for me to do it.

I'm talking about meeting Kate Mulgrew, she played captain Janeway in Star Trek Voyager (for the non-trekkies: she's the one in my LJ icon, LOL). I'm a follower of Kate's fan page on Facebook and I read that she's going to be in London in October. Now London is not far away and very easy for me to fly to. That means I could actually have a chance to meet my great childhood hero Captain Kathryn Janeway. I know, I know, Janeway's just a character, but still, I've seen my share of interviews with Kate and she seems quite nice too, so why not?

Having shared that interesting piece of information, I'm off, dinner's waiting. ;) I'll be back later.

Dreaming fairy

I believe in Fairies
I had a dream in which I dreamt I woke up on the floor of a big empty building. My mother was lying next to me and woke up at the same time. I got up and I saw I had fairy wings on my back. They were big transparent purple and pink butterfly-ish wings. My mother looked at them in amazement and said they were beautiful. They were two right wings, though, instead of one right and one left wing. I couldn't use them for flying.
Next, a large group of people my age came into the building and went up the stairs to another big room where they would all watch a movie together. I knew I was part of that group and I followed them. I tried to flap my wings, but I still couldn't, so I walked. We all sat on pillows on the floor, several people had brought popcorn. That's when I woke up.

Weird.

Head over heels on gasoline...

Pinkie Pie
Hello y'all,

You probably got it from my entry title, I just can't stop listening to The Asteroids Galaxy Tour's 'Heart Attack'. It's SOOOO catchy! When I heard it on the radio for the first time, I thought it was some song from the 80's I'd never heard before. LOL They have such a cool band name, by the way.

I'm also VERY happy it's spring. Flowers and sunshine, yay! And for the people who don't know it yet: RAINBOW colours are IN this year! So bring out all your pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple clothes and wear them all together!

Peace!

Lucid dreaming

Pinkie Pie
Have you ever caused yourself to have a lucid dream?

Ok, this may sound nerdy, but the outcome of it is quite cool, so I'd like to share this.
I was watching an episode of Star Trek Voyager last week, I think it was called 'Waking Moments'. This episode was about aliens bringing the crew of Voyager to sleep, in order to take over the ship in their dreams. This one character, Chakotay, talked about having lucid dreams, and how he visualised the Earth's moon and if he ever saw it in a dream, he'd know he was asleep and then he'd tap on the back of his hand three times to wake up.
I didn't know anything about lucid dreaming, I certainly didn't know it was possible to cause it yourself. Now, I was aware this was Star Trek, so I took into account that it could all be made up, but it fascinated me and I wanted to try this.
So I did the same as Chakotay, I told myself that if I would see the moon, I'd know I'm dreaming. I went to sleep that night, but nothing happened. The two nights after that, still nothing happened. I kept reminding myself of that moon every evening. The fourth night, I remember dreaming about walking out of a forest, to the train station to meet a friend. And then, I saw a reflection of the moon on an information screen on the wall. I immediately realised I was dreaming. At that point I realised everything from the waking world. I remembered watching Voyager and wanting to try this. I said to myself: 'It worked!' I realised that friend I was supposed to meet, wasn't real, so I walked on. I could choose which street I'd go in, I could say whatever I wanted and stop and see whatever I wanted.

This is so cool! I'm gonna do this again!

Sometimes writing a meme is just for fun...

Pinkie Pie

A meme about one's childhood, that could be fun (and interesting). Feel free to do the same. :)

This meme is about the age of around 9-12.
The series I was watching at the time... I was a nerd back then. I watched Star Trek Voyager and Knight Rider.
Favourite characters of the series... Of both of them it was the lead-character, Michael Knight and Captain Janeway (I can't stand David Hasselhoff nowadays, lol)
Favourite cartoon series... I watched many. I loved the Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd & Eddy, Pokémon... and probably many more.
Fandom... Pokémon! I was a fanatic collector of the cards. LOL And I collected Star Trek Voyager stuff, like bookmarks, official character photos and even trading cards...
Favourite fan-merchandise... My Tom Paris bookmark. LOL
Childhood crush... I had several. I had a crush on Tom Paris and Harry Kim from Voyager (it was hard to decide who was cuter), Obi-Wan Kenobi (from the Episode I movie) and I even had a crush on a non-fictional person, a friend of mine. *blushes*
Favourite music... *thinks* Spice Girls. And the Backstreet Boys. LOL Oh, and Britney Spears.
Hobbies... drawing. I was always drawing. And while doing that, I was listening to the radio.
Favourite toy... I think I was about 10-11 when I got a Furby. I absolutely loved it.
Favourite food... My mother's spaghetti. :D
I absolutely hated... Brussels sprouts and chicory.
Best friend... Charlotte
When I'd drow up, I wanted to be... A pilot. Look what's become of my dreams.
Best childhood memory... That's easy. Swimming with wild dolphins when I was 12. It was absolutely amazing.
Childhood hero... Captain Kathryn Janeway, I wanted to be just like her.

That's all I can think of for now... ;)

Warp speed crush

Pinkie Pie
I have a crush on someone. But he has a girlfriend. And she's not even an attractive one. She's no fun, she has no sense of humour and she always looks so grumpy.

But him? He's loads of fun, he has a huge sense of humour, is very talkative and he's very nice. I can't believe why he's with that woman, he can get much better than her...

He's a Trekkie. Yes, he owns a uniform, he plays the games, he visits conventions and watches all the series. I've never been at his home, so I don't know what it looks like there, maybe it's full of posters and gadgets, I don't know. But who cares, when a guy's that much fun. :D

I met him at a Star Trek forum online. I'm not Trekkie, but with my semi-Star Trek Voyager fandom, I decided to 'explore' one of those forums and see if it's interesting enough for me to stick around. So I signed up and chose the first nickname that came to mind, Janeway, of which I was very surprised it wasn't taken yet. That was also the topic of my first post, to which the guy in question commented and was the first one to welcome me to the message board. Many messages and comments followed, I had a great time with him on the forum. Then one day I was invited to one of the Star Trek club's meetings, but I declined, as I wasn't a member and therefore wasn't allowed on the meeting. But then the guy in question requested permission to take a non-member along. Permission was granted, as I read in a private message from him and so we met at the meeting. A brown-haired (and quite handsome) guy, a little taller than I am, in uniform with badge and everything walked up to me and asked: 'Are you Janeway?'. We talked and laughed and he wanted me to compete in his Star Trek role playing game, he gave me the role of Captain Janeway (duh). :P

We laughed our heads off during the game. He especially loved my Janeway-imitations. lol We also watched a few episodes, and when the meeting was over, we stayed chatting for a while (god, he's a chatterbox). And oh yes, his girlfriend was there too, not saying a word and looking grumpy all the time.

And now, a few years after that day, we still laugh and joke and have fun on the forum. I think I have a serious crush on that guy. What to do? :P

Pinkie Pie
The candle flame flickers heavily while there's no wind, I've got shivers down my back and goosebumps all over. Something tells me it's not just me in the room. I look up 'flickering candle' and find that it could be a spirit of some kind. According to the site I should ask who's there and the answer should fill my mind. I did get one. And it doesn't make me happy.

Figures. The one person you thought had the least influence in your life, is the one person who drags you out of the shit.

Printing...

Tinker Bell
I've finally installed my new all-in-one printer! It was a bit confusing to read different instructions from the installation software, than in the user's manual, but I figured it all out in the end anyway.
In the end it asked me to choose a photo for a try-out print on included glossy photo paper, I thought I'd do it right and I went for a Winx Club image. LOL
The printer can also scan and copy. And funnily enough, the printer is also compatible with the digital camera I bought about 8 years ago, so I can just plug it in and print my photos. :D
I just wish I was more of a photo taking fanatic... LOL Of course I can search for photos online, but it has to have a very high resolution to come out right.

I have to go to the post office and I have to buy printer paper, but I don't feel like going out. :P
Actually, today was officially a working day for me, but yesterday my boss gave me today off. :D I'm going shopping with a friend tonight (it's shopping night) and we're going to eat at KFC (she's crazy about KFC. lol)

Well, I guess I'd better be on my way to that post office... :P
